Ancient House
This project comprised of the repair and upgrading of a Grade 2 listed 15th century timber frame hall house. The programme of repair included the recreation and repair of the crown post collar rafter roof and timber frame, the removal of a factory unit to form a communal garden, the removal of dormers and shop fronts, and the general upgrading of the accommodation to provide three separate houses within the interior. The project involved careful study and investigation of the timber frame to interpret the building and derive a strategy for suitable repairs.
